15 by Jaime Oliver

A recent outing with me and some ladies in my programme. Antipasto, Mirka, Leticia and Beth.
A cool cause for some HR kids to support, mmm mmm and as a Jaime Oliver creation...delicious, as always.

The purpose of Fifteen is to inspire disadvantaged young people to believe that they can create for themselves a career in the restaurant business. We have had 37 young people graduate and many of them are now working full time in some of the world's best restaurants.

It is now three years since Channel Four's show, 'Jamie's Kitchen' followed the trials and tribulations of Jamie's attempts to open a restaurant and create chances for young people. It has been 36 months of tremendous ups and downs. We are now supporting our fourth group of young people - all of them unemployed when we recruited them, many of them homeless or in care, others living with learning difficulties.

All profits from Fifteen go to the Fifteen Foundation (the charity formerly known as Cheeky Chops), to provide these young people with the working environment in which to expand their knowledge and practical experience.

yea yea great pics but so how is SCHOOL going....?

I've been asked, hmm...to be honest we only just handed in our first piece of work after the December break so until now I could have told you that, "well I'm reading and learning a lot, think that the faculty and fellow students are great, was nominated to the faculty liaison committee...and that all seems to be going pretty well so far as I can tell...???"

but I have at last an update:

"The marking scheme is as follows for our assessed writings:

70 or more Distinction

60-69 Merit

50-59 Pass

40-49 Fail

39 or less Bad Fail"

Lore had it that it was rather unheard of to get over a mark of 72...

Today I got my paper back: 74, yay : ))
